The Guthrie County Times Vedette has a long and varied history with various titles dating back more than 100 years. Today, the Times Vedette is a twice-weekly digital newsletter delivered via email for free.  

The Times Vedette newspaper was purchased by Big Green Umbrella Media (BGUM) in July of 2022. Shane Goodman is the owner of BGUM, which also publishes CITYVIEW magazine in Des Moines and 13 different Iowa Living magazines in the Des Moines suburbs, as well as a variety of digital offerings, website development and events. The company’s main office is located in Johnston.

Goodman and his wife, Jolene (who serves as the advertising director for BGUM), own a home in Guthrie County and are actively involved in the communities their company serves. 

BGUM also publishes the Lake Panorama Times, a free monthly publication mailed to all property owners at Lake Panorama, Panora Times, a free monthly publication mailed to all residents and businesses in Panora, Linden, Yale, Jamaica and Bagley, and Guthrie Center Times, a free monthly publication mailed to all residents and businesses in Guthrie Center, Adair and Casey.
